Jewish Community Adult Day Care Program

The Dorothy and Peter Brown Jewish Community Adult Day Care Program is dedicated to assisting older adults with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders to remain able, active and alert. The environment is designed to enhance the self-esteem, well being and dignity of each participant. Through a partnership in caregiving, the program enables family members to keep their loved ones living at home. It also enhances the quality of life and reduces the need for paid caregivers for older adults in assisted or senior living settings.

A caring professional staff

Our staff specializes in working with older adults with dementia disorders. The team consists of a masters-level Family Life Coordinator, activity and music therapists, registered dietitian, program assistants and registered nurse, supported by consultants in medicine, psychiatry, psychology, podiatry and other professional fields. The staff creates a warm, caring environment in which each participant is treated with compassion. Individualized attention is ensured by a high staff-to-participant ratio.

Location and Hours

The program is open Monday through Friday. Participants can attend from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Schedules can be individualized.

2nd Tuesday of each month at Jewish Vocational Service at 1:30 pm
2nd Thursday of each month at Jewish Home & Aging Services at 1:30 pm
3rd Monday of each month at Jewish Home & Aging Services at 7 p.m.

The Club in the Plaza

The Club in the Plaza is an adult day care program for older adults with mild physical and mental impairments.

 

As a member of THE CLUB, one can experience the activities and social events available in the hotel atmosphere of Blumberg Plaza, while still maintaining your own home residence.

THE CLUB is a program that offers recreation, socialization and mental stimulation. The goal of THE CLUB in the Plaza is to promote socialization, independence and wellness. It, also, provides important respite for family members who live with older persons and who may work, need a brief vacation or temporary relief from their Caregiving duties. THE CLUB fills the day of the older adult who is still living at home.

Following an assessment by our professional social work staff, Join THE CLUB in the Plaza and enjoy:

Recreational and religious activities that include cultural, educational, and social activities: musical presentations, adult education, lectures, fitness programs, movies, social events and field trips.
Door-to-door transportation.
Lunch nutritionally prepared in our supervised kosher kitchen served in our beautiful garden view dining room.
A lush outdoor garden for casual strolling, brisk walks or informal picnics.
Waist high gardens and flower arrangements.
A miniature Golf Course for easy going competition.
A Beauty Salon and Barber Shop.
A Gift Shop and Nosh Nook Café.
